Spain emerged victorious over Saudi Arabia at Atlanta Stadium in World Cup. The game concluded with a 4-0 scoreline, after 3-0 in the first half.

Spain scored the first goal when Lamine Yamal netted in the 10th minute off a pass from Mikel Oyarzabal making it 1-0.

Spain also increased their lead to 2-0 when Mikel Oyarzabal converted after a feed from Aymeric Laporte in the 21st minute.

Spain increased their lead to 3-0 as Mikel Oyarzabal scored yet again. This time he scored with an assist by Dani Olmo just three minutes later later.

4-0 came through an own-goal in the 49th minute, which was the final result.

“That was the plan, to play for a half and get some rest, but above all to help the team. The first game wasn’t really us, but now we’ve arrived and we’re going for more. It turned out the way we wanted – being 3-0 up allowed me to rest, so it was perfect. Drawing a match that you feel you should win stings. It made us think a lot, and it helped us approach this match exactly how we wanted to. I’ve always dreamed of being at a World Cup, and being able to score in my first match as a starter is a dream. I watched the last World Cup from a classroom, so being able to score here with my mum and my family in the stands is a dream.” Spain’s Lamine Yamal said following the victory.

The next World Cup game for Spain is Uruguay on 27 June. Saudi Arabia play Cape Verde Islands on 27 June.
