Three goals from Celta de Vigo sealed a convincing victory against Villarreal at Estadio de Balaídos in the La Liga. With a resolute defensive performance, Celta de Vigo kept Villarreal at bay, resulting in a comprehensive 3-0 win for the home side.

Villarreal’s Eric Bailly was sent off in the 37th minute.

Celta de Vigo took the lead in added-time in the first half when Fer López netted, with an assist by Borja Iglesias.

Celta de Vigo found the net once more, this time through Iago Aspas in the 87th minute.

Celta de Vigo are now in seventh place, while Villarreal are in fifth place.

Straight after the break, Borja Iglesias scored and increased the team’s lead.
