Germany Clinches 2-1 Win Over Côte d’Ivoire in World Cup Duel

Germany emerged victorious over Côte d’Ivoire at Toronto Stadium in World Cup. The game concluded with a 2-1 scoreline, after 0-1 in the first half.

There was no real shape to the match until the visiting team Côte d’Ivoire took the lead just on the half-hour mark through Franck Kessié who making it 0-1.

In the 68th minute Deniz Undav equalised for Germany with an assist by Nadiem Amiri.

The deciding goal came in extra time when Deniz Undav netted for Germany played in by Felix Nmecha to complete Germany’s come back.

Germany’s next World Cup games are against Ecuador on 25 June and Germany on 29 June. Côte d’Ivoire play Curacao on 25 June.

“We had exactly what it takes to succeed in a tournament. A winning mentality, team spirit. We didn’t give up; we just kept going. The guys coming off the bench brought new energy to the game. Deniz deserves special mention. He was outstanding,” Tah said following Germany’s win.
