In the World Cup, Netherlands emerged victorious over Sweden at Houston Stadium. The game ended with a 5-1 scoreline, following a first-half score of 2-0.
Netherlands silenced Sweden when Brian Brobbey got on the scoresheet in the fifth minute, with an assist from Cody Gakpo.
Netherlands increased their lead to 2-0 when Brian Brobbey scored again. This time he found the net played in by Denzel Dumfries in the 17th minute.
In the 54th minute Cody Gakpo increased the lead for Netherlands with an assist by Crysencio Summerville.
Anthony Elanga just five minutes later, off a pass from Alexander Isak ensuring Sweden reduced the score to 4-1.
Straight after the break Cody Gakpo found the net and increased the team’s lead.
The 5-1 goal came in the final minutes when Crysencio Summerville scored for Netherlands set up by Memphis Depay.
