Czech Republic and South Africa settled for a 1-1 draw in the World Cup duel at Atlanta Stadium.
Czech Republic started the match best and took the lead early when Michal Sadílek netted after six minutes with an assist by Alexandr Sojka making it 1-0.
Czech Republic play Mexico on 25 June. South Africa’s next opponent is Korea Republic on 25 June.
Seven minutes left to play South Africa’s Teboho Mokoena equalised. “We’re disappointed with this result because I think that, if we look at the chances, we were closer to winning, but we made a mistake that cost us the tie. Despite that, we played better in the second half.” Czechia manager, Miroslav Koubek, said after the draw.
