In the World Cup, Belgium emerged triumphant against New Zealand at Vancouver Stadium, securing a 5-1 victory. The match saw a score of 1-0 at halftime before Belgium clinched the win.
There was no real shape to the match until the visiting team Belgium took the lead just before the half-hour mark through Leandro Trossard who making it 0-1.
Straight after the break Leandro Trossard made his mark and increased the team’s lead.
In the 66th minute Kevin De Bruyne increased the lead for Belgium with an assist by Leandro Trossard.
Six minutes left to play New Zealand’s Elijah Just reduced.
The 4-1 goal came in the final minutes when Romelu Lukaku netted for Belgium set up by Nicolas Raskin.
Alexis Saelemaekers just four minutes later, assisted by Romelu Lukaku ensuring Belgium increased the lead again, making it 5-1.
