Ajax were the victors in a close encounter with FC Utrecht in the Eredivisie. The game went the distance and it took penalties to see Ajax win by 4-3.
In the penalty shoot-out Ajax was the stronger side, winning 4-3.
Wrapping up the regular season, Ajax finished in fifth place and FC Utrecht in sixth.
The first goal was scored right at the death with -6 minutes left to play, when Davy Klaassen netted, with an assist by Takehiro Tomiyasu, to make it 1–0 for Ajax.
The equaliser came, when Gjivai Zechiël found the net for FC Utrecht.
