Japan and Sweden Finish Level in 1-1 Draw After Intense Fixture

In the World Cup match at Dallas Stadium, Japan and Sweden concluded the clash with a 1-1 draw after a goalless first half.

Japan’s next World Cup game is against Brazil on 29 June. Sweden play France on 30 June.

The first half finished 0-0 and it took until the 56th minute before Daizen Maeda got on the scoresheet after a feed from Ritsu Doan to give Japan the lead.

With 62 minutes on the clock Sweden’s Anthony Elanga found the net following a Viktor Gyökeres assist to equalise.
