FC Utrecht’s defence has been impenetrable in four successive games in the Eredivisie. The match at home to Go Ahead Eagles was no exception and ended 2-0.
FC Utrecht took an early lead when Gjivai Zechiël netted after 16 minutes, with an assist by Ángel Alarcón, making it 1-0.
FC Utrecht also increased their lead to 2-0, when Artem Stepanov found the net, with an assist by Yoann Cathline, in the 37th minute. The teams were unable to score in the second half and the game ended with a 2-0 win for FC Utrecht.
It was FC Utrecht’s seventh game in a row without defeat.
The result leaves FC Utrecht in seventh place, while Go Ahead Eagles are in 13th place.
FC Utrecht’s next Eredivisie games are against PSV (away) on 4 April, FC Utrecht (home) on 11 April and Excelsior (away) on 26 April. Go Ahead Eagles play PEC Zwolle (home) on 5 April, FC Groningen (away) on 11 April and AZ (home) on 23 April.
