The second-half goal from Akinpelu was the only goal of the game. Union Saint-Gilloise won 1-0 away to Galatasaray in the Champions League.

The first half finished 0-0 and it took until the 57th minute before Promise David  netted, with an assist by Adem Zorgane, to make it 1–0 for Union Saint-Gilloise, a goal that decided the game.
