The crowds at Broadfield Stadium saw a game with two faces in the Premier League on Sunday. Tottenham Hotspur seemed to be in control and headed for victory but the home side Brighton & Hove Albion managed to pull off an impressive comeback and turn 0-2 into 3-2.
Tottenham Hotspur started the match best and took the lead when Brennan Johnson netted after 23 minutes, with an assist by Dominic Solanke, making it 1-0.
In the 37th minute James Maddison increased the lead for Tottenham Hotspur with an assist by Timo Werner.
Straight after the break, Yankuba Minteh found the net and reduced the score for Brighton & Hove Albion.
With 58 minutes on the clock, Brighton & Hove Albion’s Georginio Rutter found the net following a Kaoru Mitoma assist to equalise.
Danny Welbeck also gave the team the lead in the 66th minute, with an assist by Georginio Rutter, to complete Brighton & Hove Albion’s come back.
For the home team, the results mean sixth place in the table. Tottenham Hotspur are ninth in the league.
‘It’s disappointing. I’m absolutely gutted with that. It’s probably the worst defeat we’ve had since I’ve been here,’ Ange Postecoglou said after his side’s second-half collapse.
‘It’s unacceptable in the second half; we weren’t anywhere near where we should be. Maybe we got carried away with how we were going,’ he added.

Tottenham Hotspur play West Ham United (home) on 19 October, Crystal Palace (away) on 27 October and Aston Villa (home) on 3 November.
