Real Madrid secured a 1-0 victory away at Coliseum Alfonso Pérez against Getafe, propelling them to the top of the La Liga standings after nine games played. They currently hold a two-point lead over FC Barcelona. Getafe sits in 12th place in the league.
It took until the 80th minute before Kylian Mbappé , with an assist by Arda Güler, gave Real Madrid the lead.
Getafe’s Álex Sancris was sent off in the 84th minute.
The result means the fifth game in a row without a win for Getafe.
Getafe’s Allan Nyom was sent off in the 77th minute.
Getafe play Athletic Club on 25 October, Girona on 2 November and Mallorca (away) on 9 November. Real Madrid’s next opponents are FC Barcelona on 26 October, Valencia on 2 November and Rayo Vallecano (away) on 9 November.
