PSV strengthen title grip with another win

League leaders PSV continue to impress. With a 2-1 win away against FC Utrecht, PSV recorded yet another victory. This means the team has extended their lead in the Eredivisie and the gap to second placed Feyenoord is now 11 points. FC Utrecht are in eighth place in the league.

In the 31st minute, Mike van der Hoorn scored, with an assist by Siebe Horemans, to give FC Utrecht a 1-0 lead in what had been a goalless match.

Straight after the break, Ricardo Pepi scored and equalised for PSV.

Ivan Perišić scored the decider with an assist by Joey Veerman, in the 76th minute to complete PSV’s come back.

PSV’s Jerdy Schouten was sent off in the 88th minute.

This makes an impressive 11 straight victories for PSV’s.

It was PSV’s 13th game in a row without defeat.

The next Eredivisie games for FC Utrecht are NEC Nijmegen (away) on 9 January, FC Volendam (away) on 18 January and Sparta Rotterdam (home) on 25 January. PSV play Excelsior (home) on 10 January, Fortuna Sittard (away) on 17 January and NAC Breda (home) on 24 January.
