Milan’s Cheveyo Mul-Balentien was sent off in the 90th minute.

Milan play Udinese on 20 September, Napoli on 28 September and Juventus (away) on 5 October. Bologna’s next opponents are Genoa on 20 September, Lecce on 28 September and Pisa (home) on 5 October.

The second-half goal from Modrić was to be the only goal of the game when Milan won 1-0 at home to Bologna in the Serie A.

The first half finished 0-0 and it took until the 61st minute before Luka Modrić  netted, with an assist by Alexis Saelemaekers, to make it 1–0 for Milan, a goal that decided the game.

For the home team, the results mean fifth place in the table. Bologna are in 13th place.

“It was a great way to celebrate. We won, which is the most important thing, and now we have to focus on the next matches,” Modric told DAZN Italia.

“I hope people will not remind me of my age anymore! It was a good move, Ale gave me a great ball and it was easy to score, it was more his pass than my finish,” he added.
