FC Barcelona beat Rayo Vallecano 1-0 at home in the La Liga. Lewandowski scored the only goal of the game in the first half.
There was no real shape to the match until FC Barcelona took the lead just before the half-hour mark through Robert Lewandowski, who scored a penalty, making it 1-0.
Ahead of Monday’s game, Rayo Vallecano had enjoyed a run of nine games without defeat.
Third placed FC Barcelona claimed a fourth consecutive win in the La Liga, while Rayo Vallecano’s streak of three wins ended.
The result means Rayo Vallecano remain in sixth spot.
FC Barcelona’s next La Liga games are against Las Palmas (away) on 22 February, FC Barcelona (home) on 1 March and Osasuna (home) on 9 March. Rayo Vallecano play Villarreal (home) on 22 February, Sevilla (home) on 1 March and Real Madrid (away) on 9 March.
