Heidenheim has broken their dry spell in the Bundesliga with a resilient 3-1 win over Holstein Kiel, marking their first victory in nine games and signaling a return to form.
The game was scoreless until Marvin Pieringer found the net for Heidenheim in the 33rd minute, with an assist by Frans Krätzig.
Straight after the break, Budu Zivzivadze scored and increased Heidenheim’s lead.
The deciding goal came in extra time, when Sirlord Conteh scored for Heidenheim, with an assist by Budu Zivzivadze.
The goal that reduced the score to 2-1 came, when Phil Harres netted for Holstein Kiel, with an assist by Finn Porath.
For the home team, the results mean 16th place in the table. Holstein Kiel are last, in 18th place.
