In a Eredivisie drama, Go Ahead Eagles and FC Groningen battled it out in a 1-1 draw, with neither side willing to back down.
Go Ahead Eagles took the lead just before half time as Mathis Suray netted, with an assist by Milan Smit.
It leaves Go Ahead Eagles in 12th place and that FC Groningen are in fifth place.
With 61 minutes on the clock, FC Groningen’s Tika de Jonge found the net following a Jorg Schreuders assist to equalise.
The game was the fifth in a row without a win for Go Ahead Eagles.
Go Ahead Eagles’ next Eredivisie games are against Fortuna Sittard (home) on 11 January, Ajax (away) on 17 January and SC Heerenveen (home) on 25 January. FC Groningen play NAC Breda (home) on 10 January, SC Heerenveen (away) on 18 January and Fortuna Sittard (home) on 25 January.
