At RCDE Stadium on Monday, Sevilla faced a challenging encounter, succumbing to a narrow 2-1 defeat against Espanyol. One goal became the deciding factor in the La Liga clash, resulting in a disappointing outcome for Sevilla.
The first half was goalless, but straight after half-time, Pere Milla made his mark as he netted, with an assist by Tyrhys Dolan, to give Espanyol the lead.
With only six minutes left to play, Espanyol’s Roberto Fernández increased the lead, with an assist by Urko González de Zárate.
The goal that reduced the score to 2-1 came, when Marcão found the net for Sevilla, with an assist by Gabriel Suazo.
Sevilla are now in 11th place, while Espanyol are in sixth place.
The next La Liga games for Espanyol are Celta de Vigo (away) on 30 November, Espanyol (home) on 7 December and Getafe (away) on 13 December. Sevilla play Real Betis (home) on 30 November, Valencia (away) on 7 December and Real Oviedo (home) on 14 December.
