In the World Cup, Egypt secured a 3-1 victory at Vancouver Stadium over New Zealand. The match saw a 0-1 scoreline at halftime before Egypt clinched the win.
New Zealand scored the first goal when Finn Surman netted in the 15th minute set up by Tim Payne making it 1-0.
With 58 minutes on the clock Egypt’s Mostafa Mohamed Zaki Abdelraouf found the net following a Mohamed Hany assist to equalise.
Egypt also made it 2-1 in the 67th minute, when Mohamed Salah converted with an assist by Mostafa Mohamed Zaki Abdelraouf.
With eight minutes left to play Egypt’s Mahmoud Trezeguet increased the lead with an assist by Mohamed Salah to complete Egypt’s come back.
The next World Cup game for New Zealand is Belgium on 27 June. Egypt play Iran on 27 June.
