Cagliari Claims Hard-Fought Victory in Back-and-Forth Battle Against Lecce

In the beginning of the game, Lecce led with 0-1, but Cagliari surged back to win. The final score after the Serie A game was 4-1.

Lecce took the lead just before half time when Santiago Pierotti netted.

With 60 minutes on the clock, Cagliari’s Gianluca Gaetano found the net following a Alessandro Deiola assist to equalise.

Cagliari also made it 2-1 in the 65th minute, when Sebastiano Luperto found the net, with an assist by R. Marin.

The next Serie A games for Cagliari are Torino (away) on 24 January, Cagliari (home) on 3 February and Parma (home) on 9 February. Lecce play Inter (home) on 26 January, Parma (away) on 31 January and Bologna (home) on 9 February.

Lecce’s Ante Rebić was sent off in the 73rd minute.

Nadir Zortea increased Cagliari’s lead with an assist by Tommaso Augello, in the 80th minute.

With seven minutes left to play, Cagliari’s A. Obert increased the lead, with an assist by R. Marin.

For the home team, the results mean 13th place in the table. Lecce are in 16th place.
