Brighton & Hove Albion smashed Manchester United 3-1 at Old Trafford

Brighton & Hove Albion’s victory added to the Red Devils’ woes in the Premier League. Yankuba Minteh put the visitors ahead just five minutes into the match, assisted by Kaoru Mitoma. Throughout the course of the game, even though Manchester United made their best move, Brighton & Hove Albion’s attack pressure kept them on the back foot throughout.

Manchester United managed to level the tie in the 23rd minute when Bruno Fernandes confidently converted a penalty, but this gave some hope to the home crowd once again. However, Brighton dictated the pace all through, and in the 60th minute, Mitoma turned scorer to restore his team’s lead with a well-crafted pass from Minteh. United were never able to reply, and thus the visitors never lost their keenness to try for another goal.

The result meant Brighton made it six straight matches without a defeat, with United’s erraticism again sowing seeds of unease. Amorim described the issues, saying it has been very difficult for everyone to watch as much as for the players, both on the field and at home. In the 76th minute, Brighton added a 3-1 score when Georginio Tutter took advantage of a slack defence by Manchester United.

As this match concluded, Manchester United will now face Fulham on January 26, followed by Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur on February 2 and February 15, respectively. Brighton, on the other hand, will host Everton on January 25, and Nottingham Forest on February 1 and Chelsea on February 14.
