The Eredivisie battle between AZ and Sparta Rotterdam kicked off with a goalless first half at AFAS Stadion on Sunday. However, Sparta Rotterdam’s dominant second-half display propelled them to a convincing 3-1 triumph.

With only seven minutes left to play, AZ’s Kees Smit increased the lead, with an assist by Mees de Wit.

The goal that reduced the score to 2-1 came in the final minutes, when Milan Zonneveld found the net for Sparta Rotterdam, with an assist by Casper Terho.

Troy Parrott just three minutes later, with an assist by Jeroen Zoet, ensuring AZ increased the lead to 3-1.
