A stellar showing by Aston Villa saw them score two goals and shut out West Ham United in the Premier League clash at Villa Park. The home team secured a dominant 2-0 win to claim victory.

Aston Villa started the match well and took the lead early when John McGinn netted in the 15th minute, with an assist by Jadon Sancho, making it 1-0.

In the 68th minute, Ollie Watkins increased the lead for Aston Villa.

So, Aston Villa are still in fourth place and West Ham United are in 18th.

“Not a good performance. First half, never comfortable in the game, we lose duels, we arrive late to the press, we didn’t break them, side to side but not break,” West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo said speaking in a press conference.

Aston Villa’s next Premier League games are against Nottingham Forest (away) on 12 April, Aston Villa (home) on 19 April and Fulham (away) on 25 April. West Ham United play Wolverhampton Wanderers (home) on 10 April, Crystal Palace (away) on 20 April and Everton (home) on 25 April.
