Ajax faced a challenge when they visited NEC Nijmegen in the Eredivisie, and the encounter lived up to expectations, concluding in a 2-2 draw.
NEC Nijmegen were quickest out of the blocks, and went 1-0 up when Bryan Linssen netted in the third minute.
Ajax equalised to make it 1-1, as Kasper Dolberg found the net, with an assist by Anton Gaaei, in the 38th minute.
Ajax took the lead just before the half-time whistle as Mika Godts scored, with an assist by Youri Regeer.
Straight after the break, Sami Ouaissa made his mark and equalised for NEC Nijmegen.
NEC Nijmegen’s Sami Ouaissa was sent off in the 59th minute.
It was NEC Nijmegen’s sixth game in a row without defeat.
So, NEC Nijmegen are still in fourth place and Ajax are in third.
