Mexico Prevails Against Ecuador in World Cup

Mexico earned a 2-0 victory in the World Cup playoff against Ecuador.

Mexico started the match best and took the lead when Julián Quiñones got on the scoresheet in the 22nd minute supplied by Roberto Alvarado making it 1-0.

Mexico increased the lead to 2-0 after more than half an hour’s play as Raúl Jiménez found the net after a feed from Julián Quiñones. The teams were unable to score in the second half and the game ended with a 2-0 win for Mexico.

Ecuador’s Piero Hincapié was sent off in the 90th minute.
