SC Freiburg hosted FSV Mainz 05 at Europa-Park Stadion in a match that finished 4-0. The result meant FSV Mainz 05’s eighth game in a row without a win in the Bundesliga.
SC Freiburg took an early lead when Lukas Kübler netted in the 12th minute, with an assist by Philipp Lienhart, making it 1-0.
In the 26th minute Vincenzo Grifo increased the lead for SC Freiburg with an assist by Lucas Höler.
FSV Mainz 05’s Paul Nebel was sent off in the 28th minute.
Straight after the break, Johan Manzambi made his mark and increased the team’s lead.
SC Freiburg found the net once more, this time through Patrick Osterhage, with an assist by Matthias Ginter, in the 90th minute.
It leaves SC Freiburg in eighth place and that FSV Mainz 05 are in 18th and last place.
SC Freiburg’s next Bundesliga games are against Heidenheim (away) on 6 December, SC Freiburg (home) on 14 December and VfL Wolfsburg (away) on 20 December. FSV Mainz 05 play Borussia Mönchengladbach (home) on 5 December, FC Bayern München (away) on 14 December and St. Pauli (home) on 21 December.
