PSV won 5-3 in clash at the top against NEC Nijmegen

PSV claimed a fine win away to fifth placed NEC Nijmegen in the Eredivisie on Saturday. The match finished 5-3 and was a very important win in the race at the top.

NEC Nijmegen’s Virgil Misidjan made it 2-1 just two minutes later later as he found the net, with an assist by Bryan Linssen.

PSV increased the lead to 3-1 just one minut later as Joey Veerman scored, with an assist by Jerdy Schouten.

PSV took an early lead when Ricardo Pepi netted after 12 minutes, with an assist by Jerdy Schouten, making it 1-0.

In the 30th minute Ruben van Bommel increased the lead for PSV with an assist by Sergiño Dest.

Straight after the break, Ricardo Pepi found the net and increased the team’s lead.

Just four minutes later later, Youssef El Kachati reduced the score for NEC Nijmegen.

NEC Nijmegen pulled one back again in the 69th minute of the game when Tjaronn Chery scored, with an assist by Deveron Fonville.

Myron Boadu increased the lead in the 72nd minute with an assist by Joey Veerman.

The result means NEC Nijmegen are now in fifth place in the table and that PSV are second in the league.

NEC Nijmegen play SC Heerenveen on 21 September, AZ on 28 September and Go Ahead Eagles (away) on 5 October. PSV’s next opponents are Ajax on 21 September, Excelsior on 27 September and PEC Zwolle (away) on 4 October.
