In Saturday’s Eredivisie showdown, Ajax emerged triumphant with a 3-1 victory over PEC Zwolle on home turf.
Ajax started the match well and took the lead when Davy Klaassen netted after 18 minutes, with an assist by Mika Godts, making it 1-0.
In the 37th minute Mika Godts increased the lead for Ajax with an assist by Kenneth Taylor.
PEC Zwolle’s Kaj de Rooij also reduced the score for PEC Zwolle in the 69th minute, with an assist by Koen Kostons.
The 3-1 goal came, when Mika Godts found the net for Ajax, with an assist by Anton Gaaei.
The next Eredivisie games for Ajax are PSV (away) on 21 September, Ajax (home) on 27 September and Sparta Rotterdam (away) on 4 October. PEC Zwolle play Go Ahead Eagles (home) on 21 September, AZ (away) on 24 September and FC Volendam (away) on 27 September.
For Ajax, this means third place in the table, while PEC Zwolle are 10th in the league.
