Victory Over Southampton Propels Manchester City to Top of the League

Southampton now have four straight defeats.

With a resounding 1-0 victory over Southampton home at Etihad Stadium, Manchester City have surged to the top of the Premier League standings after nine games, edging ahead of Liverpool by two points. Southampton currently resides in 20th place in the league.

Manchester City silenced Southampton when E. Haaland netted in the fifth minute, with an assist from Matheus Nunes.

The result means that Manchester City remain undefeated this season after taking points in nine straight games.

The next Premier League games for Manchester City are AFC Bournemouth (away) on 2 November, Brighton & Hove Albion (away) on 9 November and Tottenham Hotspur (home) on 23 November. Southampton play Everton (home) on 2 November, Wolverhampton Wanderers (away) on 9 November and Liverpool (home) on 24 November.
