The result means the seventh game in a row without a win for Crystal Palace.
The only goal of the game came from Teixeira da Silva in the first half in Liverpool’s victory in the Premier League, as they beat Crystal Palace 1-0 away.
Crystal Palace remains in 18th place and Liverpool is on top.
Liverpool took an early lead when Diogo Jota netted after 9 minutes, with an assist by Cody Gakpo, making it 1-0.
‘The second half encourages all of us. We had enough chances to score from our chances – you can see it’s not going too easily at this moment,’ Palace manager Oliver Glasner said.
‘It’s understandable to me. We don’t have the confidence, the attacking players are suffering. But the performance, character, and creating so many chances against the best defending team in the Premier League this season encourages us,’ he added.
Crystal Palace play Nottingham Forest on 21 October, Tottenham Hotspur on 27 October and Wolverhampton Wanderers (away) on 2 November. Liverpool’s next opponents are Chelsea on 20 October, Arsenal on 27 October and Brighton & Hove Albion (home) on 2 November.
