Fulham hosted Southampton at Craven Cottage in a match that finished 0-0. The result meant Southampton’s seventh game in a row without a win in the Premier League.
It leaves Fulham in ninth place and that Southampton are in 20th and last place.
“I have to say that it’s a missed opportunity for us to climb in the table,” Marco Silva said after the draw.
“In our last four results, they were going to have a bigger impact if today we took a step forward and won the game. We respect Southampton, but these are the type of games we need to win at home, and we didn’t create enough chances in the game,” he added.
Fulham play Chelsea on 26 December, AFC Bournemouth on 29 December and Ipswich Town (home) on 5 January. Southampton’s next opponents are West Ham United on 26 December, Crystal Palace on 29 December and Brentford (home) on 4 January.
