Napoli gave out a convincing show to take 3-0 win over Fiorentina in the Stadio Artemio Franchi. With this win, they have secured the top of the Serie A table after playing 19 games, three points ahead of second-placed Atalanta. Fiorentina is in sixth position, and it looks like the steam has gone from its wheels.
The breakthrough came in the 29th minute when David Neres opened the scoring for Napoli, assisted by Romelu Lukaku. Early in the second half, Lukaku doubled Napoli’s advantage with a well-timed strike in the 54th minute. Visitors sealed the win in the 68th minute with a goal from Scott McTominay.
This was the fourth consecutive victory for Napoli and made them really strong in recent weeks. Meanwhile, Fiorentina has suffered four matches in a row without a win and underlined the struggles they are facing lately.
Next, Fiorentina will be looking to rebound in their games: Monza (away) on January 13, Torino (home) on January 19, and Lazio (home) on January 26. High-flying Napoli will be facing Hellas Verona (home) on January 12, Atalanta (away) on January 18, and Juventus (home) on January 25.
