Crystal Palace Secures Crucial Point in a Thrilling Draw Goal Against Chelsea

The recent match between Chelsea and Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge ended in a late equalizing point. While Chelsea started strong with a lead in the 14th minute by Cole Palmer they failed to make another goal. This in turn leaves the opportunity open for Crystal Palace to make their first goal.

As the second half of the game took place, it was where Crystal Palace turned around the table. They leveled scores just eight minutes before the full ninety; Eberechi Eze provided an effective pass to Jean-Philippe Mateta who ensured he got to the net past some defenders to score, with the match ending 1-1 and sharing the points apiece. The outcome puts Palace in 15th position, while Chelsea stays at fourth position and is finding it hard to get their game right.

Chelsea’s third consecutive draw since the end of November leaves their top-four status in jeopardy, while Crystal Palace can take hope from their own resilience ahead of a testing set of fixtures that includes Leicester City on January 15, West Ham United on January 18, and Brentford at home on January 26.

Chelsea, however, will try to rebound at home against AFC Bournemouth on January 14, then travel to Wolverhampton Wanderers on January 20, before another challenging match at Manchester City on January 25. This should be interesting because both will try to climb further up as the season builds up.
